CPU Heatsinks

A heatsink is either an environment or an object, that absorbs heat from one object and then dissipates the heat to another object. Thermal energy is transferred from a high temperature object to one that has a lower temperature. Thermal equilibrium is the result, which lowers the temperature of the first object.

CPU heatsinks usually come with a fan. They can have fans or be fanless. It is required to keep your computer cool. You can have a fanless heatsink that still keeps your computer cool.

Internal heat sinks that work on the inside of your computer. You can also have external heat sinks that work on the outside of your computer. They both work just as well.

There are heatsinks that are watercooled processor heatsinks. Watercooled processor heatsinks are cooled with water. The water is passed through tubes to the CPU block which is mounted on the CPU. As the cold water passes it cools the CPU. It basically takes away the heat from the different parts of the computer. The water then returns to its original reservoir where it cools and starts its journey all over again. heatsink.
